The best avaible!
We have tried them all. Do not waste your time with cheap uncomfortable harnesses. This PPG Trainer is the most expensive, and it's also the best. Order with or without carabiners. The carabiners are flight ready, not cheap hardware store versions.
Every foot launcher needs one!
Think you won't need a training harness after your first solo? WRONG! Practicing ground handling is the key to foot launched paramtoring. If you want to continue to improve, you'll use it every chance you get. Still don't want one? You might as well get wheels.
Comfort, especially for men!
Since you will spend many hours ground handle, you want a harness that's comfortable. The PPG Trainer has thick padding and adjusts to fit any sized pilot. Most importantly, when adjusted properly, male anatomy is never an issue.
Identical to your Paramotor
The hook-ins on the PPG Trainer adjust to match the hook-ins on your paramotor so the skills you develop with the Training Harness will translate directly to launching your motor. There are several hook in points to match different paramotor harness set ups.
Flight Carabiners
The carabiners available with the Ultimate are real flight carabiners, used on paramotor and paragliding harnesses. These are expensive. You can find them cheaper. However, be careful. Avoid using cheap carabiners that are not flight worthy. If you get lifted off the ground and a carabiner breaks, you could be seriously injured.
The PPG Trainer is not designed for free flight. |

Paraglider harnesses for paramotor pilots
The following paragliding harnesses were selected to complement powered paragliding. They pack small and light, and some can actually be taken with you on a paramotor flight.
In Why We Fly, we flew paramotors to a virgin soaring site, took off our paramotors, put on soaring harnesses, and then, well, look to the left...
The harnesses are listed in order of increasing weight and complexity. There are many other harnesses not listed so call us if you don't see what you are looking for. These harneses do not include carabiners.
Ground handling practice with a paragliding harness
Every powered and unpowered paraglider pilot needs a training harness, even years after initial instruction. Many ask if they could use paragliding harness to practice powered paragliding. The idea is that if they ever want to paraglide, they'll have a harness.
There are 2 problems with this line of reasoning. First, paragliding harnesses have lower attachment points, which do not give you the same feel as a paramotor harness. You won't learn properly. Secondly, flying unpowered without instruction is asking for trouble. It is NOT the same as paramotoring. Please get instruction. We will be happy to set you up with an instructor. |

| Woody Valley Voyager Plus |
$875 |
 |
|
|
| Woody Valley pioneered this extremely popular style of harness: reversable, ightweight, integrated reserve container. The Voyager Plus is copied by many and even manufactured for other companies like Swing by Woody Valley. |
| |
UPDATE: as of April 2011, Woody Valley will begin stocking all sizes of the Voyager Plus with a LEFT HANDED reserve handle, in the color red. If any left handed pilots want a different color in the Voyager Plus, you can expect an 8 week wait time. |
| |
The Voyager was released April 2008 and thepublic really liked this harness here. The Voyager Plus was released in March 2009 and has experienced a high sales volume in Europe. The Voyager was born as a mountaineering harness (weight: 3Kg) with its optional front parachute container made with light materials but the good demand for this product led to the "Voyager plus" (weight: 3.75Kg) which is the Voyager version with the parachute container integrated under the seat and with a bigger and more comfortable rucksack.
The Voyager Plus is equipped with an airbag, which fulfills DHV and the European certifications. In the air, the reversible rucksack becomes the actual AIRBAG and back protection.
The special hooks on the back of the rucksack ensure a safe and correct position of the telescopic trekking poles during flight.
